The annual leave offers a finite amount of days to work with, so it’s very important to be smart when it comes to how you manage your free days. That’s because you always want to make the most out of paid time off. However, if you prepare accordingly, use an annual leave planner, and focus on your vacation, you can actively enjoy great results.
It all comes down to knowing when holidays and legal off days take place, and you can book around them. With a smart approach, you can get close to double the annual leave days. Yes, it can be tricky to do, but with a good annual leave app and planning, it’s going to be worth it.
April 2025
For April, the bank holidays are between the 18th and 21st of April. You can book off 14-17 and 22-25 April as well to create a large 15-night holiday. It does require planning, and hopefully, you can also take advantage of the bank holidays. But if you can, use the Google Calendar annual leave planning to create a huge holiday when you can go anywhere in the world and enjoy your time.
May 2025
The bank holidays are the 5th of May and the 26th of May. What you can do is book off 6-9 May and then the 24th of May to the 1st of June. The idea here is that you can take 8 days off and have 2 x 8 days off, thus doubling your vacation time.
August 2025
A similar thing is possible here. Since the 25th of August is a bank holiday, you can book off the 26th to 29th of August and create an 8-day vacation just by taking 4 days off. It all comes down to using your annual leave calendar and planning stuff accordingly. If it’s done right, you can maximize your vacation time without any hassle.
December 2025
And then we move on to the end of the year, where you can take 7 days off and enjoy a 15-night holiday. How can you do that? The 25th and 26th, along with the 1st of January 2026, are bank holidays. So you have to build around those dates. You take the 23rd and 24th off, along with the 27th, 30th, and 31st, as well as the 2nd and 3rd of January. Taking only 7 days off will allow you to enjoy a large, 2-week vacation from the 21st of December up to the 5th of January.
Closing thoughts
Smart planning and attention, along with a good annual leave planner, will help you maximize your vacation time. It’s not very difficult, and it always comes down to knowing how to plan your vacation and how to make the most out of every opportunity. These days, many of us don’t even take time off because we want to finish projects, focus on our work, and so on. But realistically, it’s crucial to have an annual leave where you recharge your batteries, leave every issue behind, and focus on yourself for a change. When you come back, you can have your batteries recharged, bring in a high level of productivity, along with great motivation towards your work!
